I didn't know what to do. My mind was completely blank and I was searching desperately for memories on how to breathe and I was coming up with nothing. Only recollections of soft gasps and air trapped in the back of strained and raw throats.   
He was staring at me and his eyes were the same. But for me they were different. They used to be so blue, full of everything I'd ever wanted in my life. But they had faded to a dusty grey now. Or maybe it was me. Maybe my eyes had simply lost their ability to see colour whenever I looked at him.   
Maybe this was my fault. All of it.   
"I'm leaving."

the noteYou're always jotting down little notes. Words on old receipts, sticky notes and along the edges of the newspaper and then you're leaving them behind like a thought that never really mattered; and when I read them they never seem to fit the moment we were just in. Like your mind is dancing to a different tune that the rest of the world, including me, can't hear.

let the flames beginEvery hug is desperate,  my fingers curling around his shirt  until my knuckles turn white.  His arms intertwining around my waist  unafraid of breaking me in two  because maybe if my ribs were shattered  I wouldn’t be able to walk out his front door.   
Every kiss is needy,  his lips crushing against mine  a collision of two unbridled forces;  because maybe if I didn’t pull away to breathe  I would faint into his waiting hands  and then I wouldn’t have to leave him.

Up, down.   
Over   
And over

Lips curling back into a smile,  I could think of nothing better  than to simply lie here  and watch his chest rise and fall.

Even through my clothes  the fingers that grazed my lower back  left burns,  on top of old burns  which were on top of older burns again.   
He was whispering something in my ear  and I was laughing.   
I could smell the cologne  that I had watched him dab against his throat why hide it

I might be acting weird for a little while.

I'm going to be blunt. I've moved back home. Like. Away from the city and back to my parents on the coast, home. I will have to go back and get the last of my things soon. Though I might make a friend do it. I don't particularly want to go back.

Eventually all he'll have left that was mine, is the ring.
And I've decided it can't be mine anymore.

He didn't try and stop me. Maybe because he knows about the affair now. I told him. He wasn't entirely thrilled, but he reacted more calmly than I had anticipated. [Yeah. I had an affair. Still seeing him and I still think he's utterly divine. Get over it.]

I don't want to live with and marry someone who isn't proud of who I'm becoming.

I knew it had been coming to this, but it was all pretty quick.
I don't really know how to feel.





I think I've been drunk for the last three days.
